500 Days!!

Ha ha!! I know it's a long way away still, but the "500" makes it seem like a milestone. =)

At times it feels like it's taking "forever" for our day to come, but then when I really think about it, time's flying!

Currently, we are in the process of hiring a DJ. It's actually a lot harder than we thought it would be. It's hard to know if they are good or not without actually being at a wedding that they have played at.

I'll keep you posted!

Do I know you?

They say that you never truly know a person until you have lived with them. I've heard it countless of times, but never really put much thought into it. Until last night ...

eight n' 1/2 and counting
Mark and I have been together for almost nine years this July. We talk to each other every night and we text each other during the day. I can't remember a night when we didn't talk for at least about an hour or went to bed without saying goodnight to each other. We see each other on the weekends and if we're lucky, sometimes even during the week if our schedule allows it. We are at a point in our relationship where I can walk around the house without any make-up on, wear crappy "pambahay" (everyday) clothes and not worry about what he'll think of me. Let's just say that we're very comfortable with each other.

One thing that you have to know about Mark is that he's a very clean and organized guy. A trait that he inherited from his mom. If you think about it, there are not that many guys out there who has been blessed with this gift. So I know that I have been blessed to have a man who is like this.

A JOY-ous Day!

The definition of JOY:

"the emotion of great delight or happiness caused by something exceptionally good or satisfying."

This is exactly what my bestfriend JOY is! I know that a lot of people calls you their best friend. Why? Because you're such an amazing person!

Joy Joy, you've been with me through it all. From the day we met in grade 6, through high school, through College, and to this day! From my very first crush to now my fiancé, thanks for putting up with all my "boy-craziness"! We've had the craziest times and I am so grateful that God has blessed me with such an amazing friend.

I am so excited to share with you this new chapter of my life. Thank you for always being there and saying yes to be one of my Maids of Honor!!

What I love most about us is that even when we don't talk for weeks at a time, when we do, it's like we just continue exactly where we left off! =)

Joy was the very first person to find out that I got engaged other than my immediate family. What can I say, she's that special!

Hope you have an amazing day ... for you truly deserve it!

Happy Happy Birthday!! Tell me what it's like getting close to thirty! LOL!!

PS. Why am I tearing up writing this? LOL! Oh man, we're BOTH going to be a wreck at my wedding!! Bring on the tissues!! Ha ha ha!!!

"Good things come to those who wait."

Really itching to go away ... preferably to a place like this ...

One of the things that I am really looking forward to about getting married is to be able to travel with Marky. All inclusives are the way to go! =)

Wouldn't it be nice to share a special place like this with the one you love? Hmmm ... that's settled then, honeymoon will be somewhere warm, sunny and a place where you can bum-around all day long ... paradise!

520 days until this comes true! =) Ha ha!! Hey, a girl needs some motivation!

A mother's love ...

A Mother's Love
By: Helen Steiner Rice

A Mother's love is something that no on can explain,
It is made of deep devotion and of sacrifice and pain,
It is endless and unselfish and enduring come what may
For nothing can destroy it or take that love away . . .

It is patient and forgiving when all others are forsaking,
And it never fails or falters even though the heart is breaking . . .
It believes beyond believing when the world around condemns,

And it glows with all the beauty of the rarest, brightest gems . . .
It is far beyond defining, it defies all explanation,
And it still remains a secret like the mysteries of creation . . .

A many splendoured miracle man cannot understand
And another wondrous evidence of God's tender guiding hand.

I didn't get to post this last Sunday for Mother's Day, but here it is. I hope one day I can be even a little bit as an amazing mother as my mama.

I love you Ma!

the search for "The One"

Who would have thought that looking for a bridal dress would be so complicated (as everything else in planning a wedding). Ha ha!

From silhouettes to necklines to embellishments or details, the options just keeps going and going!

How do you really find the "perfect one".

Googling this question, this is what I found:

Do your research
Before you even begin to look around, research gowns. You should always have a bit of knowledge about dresses (and know some of the lingo) before you even set foot into a bridal shop. - check!

Decide on a silhouette. Wedding dresses are made in several different silhouettes. Before considering anything else, know which type of gown will flatter your figure the best. - check!

Envision your wedding. Picture yourself on your wedding day. What are you wearing? What silhouette is your gown? What fabric? Is it embroidered or beaded? What color is it? - check!
